This company refused to fix a defective mattress. Reviews suggest this is not a one off problem and that the company is well aware of.
Read the reviews from others. You will quickly see a pattern that shows poor management as well as a system designed to avoid accountability, always at the expense of customers who want nothing more than a mattress made to a standard befitting the price tag.
Don’t take your chances. You spend a lot of your time on your mattress.
It is 5 inches thick and was placed on the mattress the day of arrival. When I took the cover off the topper, I began the laundering process and happened to sit at the right side head of the bed. I was looking at the mattress and noticed a tear in the cover. I did a double take and looked again.
The cover has literally never been touched by any people, and nothing has rubbed against it. The mattress topper protects it from any contact. I contacted Stearns & Foster to file a warranty claim. They said they would not cover it and didn't think it was important enough to elicit a complaint.
I asked how it could be fixed. I asked how I could prevent the tear from spreading. Their only response was that they weren't helping me. After repeated requests for help stopping the tear from spreading, they ceased all contact with me.
I now have a supposedly luxury $2,600 mattress that I won't even sleep on because I'm considering legal action against the company. Not a single member of their executive team would even bother responding to my repeated emails and instead offered only lackeys to tell me they weren't taking responsibility for the failure of their mattress cover. My advice to anyone considering Stearns & Foster is to reconsider. Run in the opposite direction.
A mattress cover should not tear if it hasn't even been touched, especially on a $2,600 mattress. This is not a luxury product. This is junk.
The cover they use looks like gauze, slightly more durable than a good paper towel. The company should be ashamed of itself and should cease using the term luxury when describing its product.

Today, I received an email from Mattress Firm offering me a 20% off coupon to buy another mattress. The coupon is not good for any name brand mattress they sell.
I emailed back to ask for an escalation to help to resolve this claim with the manufacturer and was sent an auto reply that my case was closed. There is literally nowhere on their website that gives me direct contact information for customer service to deal with this. Below is the text of the email that got bounced back:This is not acceptable. The mattress has collapsing side rails and the inspector told me that it was faulty and should be replaced.
This mattress has broken down after only a year of normal use. I would like to escalate this issue please. Mattress Firm should stand behind the product sold and advocate to the manufacturer on our behalf. This was not a cheap investment and it’s unconscionable to deny a claim for a product that is legitimately faulty.
Please review the report from Mattress Marshals. Inspector Alex Szalay performed the inspection on 11/19/25. We want a credit for the mattress and a new one to replace it.
Please have a supervisor contact me at their earliest convenience. Thank you
Submitted for a warranty inspection, paid $79.99 for it! The inspector told me straight out that this series of mattresses has lots of problems, and he sees many claims. Our mattress has sagging side rails on both sides. He said it should be replaced.
Well, today I received an email with the warranty claim determination that states it did not meet the threshold for body impressions to get warranty replacement. This mattress literally has sagging side rails. We are still paying off this awful mattress, and we are in pain sleeping on it every night. Stearns and Foster has horrible customer service.
This 10-year warranty is a scam. I will never purchase one of their mattresses ever again.

Avoid making purchases from this company. They are dismissive, rude and do not stand behind their product.
Tear in mattress cover after 7 months. Company refuses to help, ignores all emails, and wont even suggest a fix.

New mattress covered with mattress topper has a tear. Never in contact with people. Could not bave been caused by me. The Stearns & Foster Estate firm pillowtop queen mattess is unusable because the tear will spread down the mattress exposing the contents of the mattress.
They say they have no responsibility to correct this and that the cover is not a functioning part of the mattress.
Now refuse to answer phone calls and answer emails. Terrible company.

I thought when the first lux mattress Stevens and foster from Boscovs had sunk and they brought a new one that the 4,000 bed would be great I have pain every morning from the mattress, its unplugged but feels like its running electric thru me and I hurt every morning. I am going to call the company, I dont want a replacement, Id never get another Stearns and Foster!

The stem and foster bed that we bought is terrible. Our neck hurt our back hurt our legs hurt hip hurt, and we are senior citizens and there’s nothing no one’s willing to do to help they will not exch

S&F mattress rep is keep asking for more pictures. I have sent many pictures but they are asking for more.
I have a feeling that they don't want to do anything. Now I am thinking legal action is the only way I can get help. 120 days trial period and 10 year warranty they offer means nothing.
Stearns and Foster mattress are total waste of money in my opinion. My 5 year old $700 mattress in our guest room is superior to their $3300 lux estate.
Purchased S&F mattress Estate Lux medium for $3.3K. In less than two months the middle of the mattress sag so bad making it so hard to sleep on it.
According to their site, there is a 120-day trial period. They kept asking me to send pictures of the mattress. So far I have sent 15 pictures in three different days and still waiting.
Nothing has been done yet. Don't waste your money on S&F mattress.

No one call me back this is not wright again 206 919**** please have some one call me back I I purchased a mattress and its no good and I called customer service and no one has called me back but I got a text from you stating how was the phone call when no one never called me back. Worst mattress ever.
I am sleeping on my couch. I have a 4 sag in the mattress less than 1 minute of laying down. (I weigh 145 lbs)My dogs (chihuahuas,9lbs) roll down into me all night long and struggle to get out of the hole.

Idk why the customer service lady sent me this sight ya I was disappointed that I get 1/2 my order when I was promised them together and now I sleep on the floor but No Big Deal!!

Don't buy their mattresses. They claim they have a 10 year warranty which is not true.
When you have a problem, they deny the claim. Will never buy another mattress from them or Ashley Furniture again.

I bought a stearns and foster mattress in November of 2012 I have all the tags on the mattress. I have tried to speak with the companies.
This mattress has destroyed my back. It has brought me health issues. Of medical bills. I will send them the bills The mattress is marked 8/12.
I pd over $1600 I just a credit for a new mattress.. They refused to help me CUZ I don't have the receipt/ business is closed, I don't hold receipts for almost 10yrs. They have a 10yr warranty. It almost over.

This expensive mattress has sunk and sagged. It has damage to my back, legs, and yes my bladder.
My Dr has informed me to.use a air mattress until this is solved. For the longest time I never thought it was my mattress until 4 Dr's told me the same thing. A mri proved it. I may need surgery.

We bought a stearns and Foster mattress in May 2022. After a week of sleeping on it indentations appeared on both sides.
I called Stearns and Foster to have it returned. Since then nobody answers my call nor was a pick up date scheduled.
My only option is to call the bank and request to have the money returned. July 1st or get the lawyer involved.
